What do we think of this pairing? It just might be a match made in heaven. Let’s face it, Alec Baldwin kills it in 30 Rock – the show just wouldn’t be the same (or nearly as funny) without him – and Steve Martin has built an entire career on being a kingpin of hilarity. Plus, they’ve each hosted Saturday Night Live more than any other repeat celeb host in the past (that’s 15 times for Martin and 14 times for Baldwin), and that’s a whole lot of live TV experience between the two of them. As for hosting the Oscars, Martin is a seasoned pro – he’s done it three times – but this will be the hosting debut for Baldwin, though he has presented at the Oscars before.
Watch Baldwin in action on 30 Rock as NBC tycoon Jack Donaghy:
Ramping up the comedy is a wise choice for the producers of the 2010 Oscars. Inviting two seasoned comedians to take the stage certainly can’t hurt their ratings and these two are bound to bring their A-game.
So what do you think? Is pairing up Martin and Baldwin a killer combo for the 2010 Oscars? Are they going to be HOT or NOT?
