First Date Fashion: What to Wear for Ladies

What to wear, what to wear… you’ve been wondering, and we’re answering! Ladies, we’ve done the research and lucky for you we’ve gathered some fool-proof outfits that are guaranteed to leave you stress-free on date night!
Who: You and the maybe mister, of course!
Where: The Movies; go casual, but leave the trackies at home.
What to wear: A perfect example is Lauren Conrad’s ensemble.
Why: This outfit is super easy to re-create- it looks as comfortable as it feels. Feel better in your black slacks than your jeans but don’t want to look like you’re going to work? Opt for a flat shoe! Live in the great white north? Trade in these strappy sandals for brown knee-high boots and scarf to match. Modify according to body type and weather. In a casual situation like this, it’s better to keep the top simple and clean cut, after all, how often do you see a gal at the theatre with a jewel embellished halter?
Where: To dinner; dress up, but keep it classy, ladies!
What to wear: A tasteful dress and an embellished/ trendy jacket.
Why: Because you probably don’t want to go out on your first date looking like a Jersey Shore cast member; it will likely give the wrong impression. If your mother ever told you less is more, she was right. In this photo Olivia Palermo has a wonderful way of making trendy look easy and chic. Her archetypal dress is given just the right touch of youth with a spunky jacket. This is a great way to give closet favorites (aka your little black dress) an updated look. Again, if winter weather is hounding you, add some opaque tights.
Where: The Coffee Date
What to Wear: Denim and neutrals
Why: You can’t possibly go wrong with this one; it’s timeless. All you need is a reliable tee, your favorite pair of jeans, flats (or flat boots) and a canvas jacket (or cardigan). This look is effortless and most definitely appropriate for your local Starbucks. Thank-you Miss Tisdale.
Where: Out for Drinks
What to Wear: That same embellished jacket from your dinner date paired with the denim you wore to the movies (and the coffee shop) and a feminine top.
Why: You will look put together but not over-the-top. Going out for drinks should be as casual as going for coffee with some minor changes. The evening hours call for heels, darker eye shadow and a flowy top. As usual, modify to body type and weather. Leather jackets are a great option for fall and winter temperatures! Don’t forget to trade in that day bag for a sleek clutch!

Speaking of sugar, these women look like they need to eat some, with butter, and healthy fats.
